2026 Flèche and Trace May 22 – 24
The Flèche Pacifique is a popular 24-hour randonneur team event modeled after France’s Flèche Velocio (Flèche is French for arrow), held every Easter weekend. In the French event, teams ride a minimum of 360 km to a common gathering point in southern France, with a new host town selected each year.
In Canada, the event may take place up to 50 days after Easter. The Flèche Pacifique is typically scheduled in mid-May, between the Lower Mainland Spring 300 km and 400 km brevets. Historically, the finish location was Harrison Hot Springs, but since 2024 the gathering point has been the Chilliwack Coast Hotel in downtown Chilliwack.
Four trophies recognize achievement in the Flèche Pacifique.
- The Gordon Bisaro Memorial Trophy is awarded to the team that covers the greatest distance in 24 hours.
- The Randy Benz Memorial Trophy recognizes the team that achieves the greatest elevation gain.
- Two additional trophies are awarded on a points basis that incorporates both distance and rider age.
- The M&M Trophy – “Most Kilometers By the More Mature”
- The Tim Pollock Lungs Are For Life Trophy
Randonneurs should note that a successfully completed Flèche is required for the Randonneur 5000 and the Randonneur 10000 medals, although Flèche distances cannot be applied toward a Super Randonneur series.
Trace
In 2010, the Trace Pacifique was introduced in BC as an additional option. It is based on the French ACP event Trace Pascale. The minimum distance is 201 km, ridden over 16 hours on Saturday, plus—since 2024—an optional 5 hours on Friday evening.
