Criteria
There are two ways to qualify for a BC-12 Award:
- A rider must complete a permanent or ACP-sanctioned brevet (or flèche/trace) in each of 12 consecutive months. The starting point can be in any month.
- A rider must complete 12 rides in a calendar year (January 1 – December 31). At least 8 of these must be permanents. This means that up to four rides can be ACP-sanctioned brevets (or flèche/trace). The permanents can be ridden any time during the year. i.e. not tied to a month.
Option b was added in October 2025 to recognize riders’ achievements while giving them flexibility to recuperate during the off-season or to avoid hazardous winter conditions.
